We were looking for a good creative game for our daughter who just turned 8. I saw this game which seemed like it had promise. My daughter loves it. She tends not to be a direction reader, but was still able to figure out by trial and error most of what she had to do. My guess is that people more familiar with these sort of games will catch on to the interface even more quickly. There were a few frustrating bits that took a quick look to the instructions to understand, but once cleared up were no problem. Overall, seems well designed, leaves plenty of room for creativity, and seems especially well suited to those in between children that want a bit of adventure, maybe aren’t interested in dolls, but still like some social interaction between the characters. ( even if some of it isn’t all that friendly ( one of her characters ate another one by accident ).
Our daughter loves the game and would play it much more than we allow.

Does this sound too much like Twilight? Everyone who's read what I have so far says no, but I'm not sure. Here's a summary:Rose Felling had nothing. From the moment they first lay eyes on each other, Rose and Byron are drawn. They begin dating, getting more and more intimate as time goes on. But Byron has a secret, one that throws Rose into complete and utter mortal danger. It's simple: Byron Fletcher is a vampire. However, he's made a bet with a jealous and vengeful witch/seer who wants him more than anything. The bet is this: she bets he will fall in love with a human girl one day, and he bets he won't. if he wins, she'll leave him alone forever. if she wins, he has to drink the girl's blood--killing her or turning her into a vampire as well. Now Rose is caught in between the battling forces of two very powerful creatures, putting her in more danger than she ever imagined. Byron will do anything to save his beloved Rose's life. My 10 yr. old loves it. Can’t say it’s educational but he gets many happy hours out of playing it. And money wise it was a good value (in comparison to the price of some video games).
arrived on time ,worked perfectly,the kids love it !! I even got into playing it with my little ones ! It is a great buy !!!
My daughter plays a lot of video games. I think they’ve help her learn basic skills like patterns and adding. I like this one because it’s fun and she has to ‘think’ about what she’s doing.
This is another really good game for kids 7 and up. My grandson Brandon really enjoys playing this game. It has really good graphics and a fun story line that my grandson really seems to enjoy. It is challenging but not so hard that he can’t advance through the levels once he gets the hang of it. I would recommend this game for ages 7 – 12.
This is a fun game, if a little short. The novelty of playing something that you’d typically see on a nature program is interesting. The game play does become a little repetitive, but the cinematic elements of combat help keep things interesting. It uses the Wiimote gesture based control actions in a fairly well thought out fashion– attack combos really felt like the system was built around the Wii platform rather than as an afterthought. The view camera angles can be a little cumbersome at times. The subject matter would cause me to guess that a target audience would be boys around 10 or 12 years old (the “gross is cool” stage), but there is a fair level of violence and gore that may concern some parents. All in all a slightly creepy, fun game.
I am eleven years old and I absolutely LOVE this game. Being the tarantula and the scorpion really brings this game to life. The good things are feeding off of bugs(which is an upgrade you have to unlock),seeing things from an arachnids point of view(for example,praying mantisis,radios etc. A lot of parts you come close to encountering the humans which makes it even more interesting. I think the tarantula is easier to kick butt with because it is more agile. It is also better to explore with because you get to upgrade to climb on the ceiling! The scorpion on the other hand kills creatures that are grounded and not as agile. Its stinger is useful for destroying creatures that are slow. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME FOR ALL WII OWNERS!!!
I bought this game for my husband. He really likes playing it, and our daughter likes to watch him gobble up and fight other creatures.
This odd little gem could probably only have appeared on the Wii, which is known for quirky, offbeat titles. Deadly Creatures is set in the American Southwest, and alternate levels let you control a scorpion or a tarantula, each with unique abilities and combat moves for you to unlock. The game is played with nunchuck/ wii remote and some motion controls are integrated into the advanced combat techniques.
The motion controls work quite well, with only the occasional misfire. Anyway, the story is actually an intertwining of two stories, the struggle of the scorpion and spider and the quest of two treacherous treasure hunters, capably played by Dennis Hopper and Billy Bob Thornton.
The humans are rarely directly seen, at least at first. Instead your arachnid will eavesdrop and sometimes glimpse them as they pursue their quest, disturbing your desert home. The unique perspective of this game and the effort put forth into telling an interesting narrative are excellent ideas that really piqued my interest, and I couldn’t wait to see how it turned out.
But you are looking at this game for the creepy crawlers, right? Well, the scorpion is slow, armored, can dig with its claws, inject venom, and climb walls. He’s the bruiser of this game, and the new techniques he can learn means you can have some freedom in your fighting style. The tarantula conversely is more about freedom of movement. He can climb walls (ceilings eventually) jump, shoot webs to briefly bind most enemies and zipline to any of the many cobwebs in the game.
I don’t think I’d call this a survival horror or horror game at all. I don’t recall seeing any kind of gore and the game doesn’t have any “boo!” moments, although trying to figure out how to fend off a trio of lizards or invading a wasp nest are pretty nerve wracking, never mind facing off against a rattlesnake or a Gila Monster.
There are a few occasional graphic hiccups, the game pauses sometimes to load,
and sometimes it’s not exactly clear what needs to be done next. These were no big issue for me but they might annoy some people. Actually, the flaws in this game are exacerbated by how good the rest of this game is, and how a little extra polish could have made this a great game, instead of a good game. Still, it’s generally available for around fifteen bucks, and it is completely worth the price. Nevermind the fact that you get to be spider and a scorpion. How many games offer that?
