I like this better then the first psp the 1000. Games look allot better, can be played during the day now, when I am outside,(the original did not look clear when outside in the sun light) and the load times are faster. I’ll just say I really enjoy the psp, it’s truly a portable ps2 and is great for road trips, plain flights and long waits at any doctor’s office. It’s allot of fun for me.

I received my PSN card as a free bonus for buying a game on Amazon, I don’t see anything bad about getting $10 free that I can use for anything from games and DLC to Movies and Comics on my PSP. It’s an acceptable alternative when making the game cheaper isn’t an option.
This product is great. I got it from the SwagBucks cards I earned off the website. I wanted to buy some things at the store so I saved up and here, I got it. I’d save up $15 worth of Amazon cards because of the shipping. Worth the buy but I like the $20 more.

The 3000 is a good platform, a mild improvement of the 2000 it replaced. That said, it is better than the latest console of the psp line…case in point, the larger screen.
I love my PSP. It’s so cool and much better than the PSP go. (which I think is a waste of money)The only problem I had was that my screen went blank, but I got a replacement in a day or two. I think that getting my PSP was the best thing I’ve done in years and I would definately recommend a PSP to anyone who likes portable gaming.

This is a exact same version as originally released on the Playstation. I have always loved Crash Bandicoot and it never gets old playing it. It is just a clasic like Super Mario Mario Bros. It’s fairly cheap to download and you can even play it on your PSP via remote play.

Like other PSone games available in the PlayStation Store, Spyro the Dragon is a direct port of the original for the first PlayStation. There are no improved graphics, no extra levels or characters, no trophies to be earned, nothing. It’s the game as it was in the late 90s and that’s it. At the price it’s at, it’s still a steal considering this is one of the few 3D platformers that still holds up to this day.
If you’ve never played Spyro, it’s pretty simple. Gnasty Gnorc got mad at the dragons when one called him ugly during a tv interview, and turned them into stone. Spyro was overlooked and it’s up to him to save everyone. You run around shooting fire, ramming enemies, flying around, collecting jewels, saving dragons and face the final boss. The gameplay’s very basic but fun. This is one of the last platformers that didn’t hold your hand through the whole game and force you into long tutorials on how to do things. The game’s easy to navigate and explore too. With no time limit, you can go at your own pace getting everything.
If the game sounds like it’s for kids, I guess it is, but I still enjoyed playing through it 7 years ago, and just this past week. For a game that came out in the first years of the PlayStation’s life, the graphics look pretty good still. And for parents who care about the ratings- there’s pretty much no violence here. When Spyro burns an enemy with fire, they hold their rear and then turn into a butterfly. ‘nothing they haven’t seen in cartoons.
So if you missed out on Spyro the first time around or are wondering if it’s worth your money, I say get it. It’s cheap and fun, and a heck of a lot better than the Spyro games that came out on every system after the PlayStation where they felt rushed and had glitches galore.
Okay, EA Replay – great idea ! But WHY some of these CRAP titles?
They could have at least done Realm of Impossibility, Axis Assasin, Bird vs Dr.J !! Even without updating them, THESE are the great EA games of old. ARCHON, even. And futhermore, PSP would have been a great place to update these games as well.
Road rash = great pick. (unbelievable original music left out). Only good thing on this title.
EA has the right idea….but HORRIBLE choice of games and HORRIBLE editing of original music. OMG, who is in charge of this company ? Pitiful.
Ok, I got this for Wing Commander and Road Rash. Road Rash is ok, not great but ok. Like stated before, the music loops endlessly. Gameplay is ok. But, it all gets boring quick. I guess it has more to do with the fact that the gameplay, plot, graphics are really from yesteryear and we’ve all gotten a bit spoiled with today’s systems.
Now, for the main game I wanted, the best space sim of all time, in my opinion: Wing Commander!!! Man, was I excited when I found out I could relive the old days when I’d spend hours playing this game on my Sega CD (understood, it’s nothing like PC but hey…). The graphics are practically the same, BUT you can’t reverse the vertical controls, meaning it only comes standard where you press down to go up. I never play flight sims like this so it took me a while to get used to it. Next concern is there’s no documentation on how to communicate. So, I’d run the first mission and simply die trying to land!
Luckily, I read that this was an SNES port so I checked the controls and it states you have to use button combos to communicate, in this case Triangle + R. Triangle + “select” lets you choose among the list, “select” selects the option you want. Cumbersome, but at least you get to complete missions! If I hadn’t known about this, I’d give this whole thing a rating of 2 instead of an average of 3.5 (with WC alone getting a 4), in my opinion. Obviously, I’m a huge fan of this game.
Now, for the rest of the games, they’re all ok and perfectly playable. Well worth the price IF there’s a game on there which you’re a huge fan of. If you’re only getting this for the sole reason that there are a lot of games, it’s not as worth it because these games can’t compete with what’s there today. Hell, compare Road Rash here to MotoGP and you’ll see what I mean. But, if you were a fan of Road Rash, you’d probably be playing this more than you will MotoGP. That’s just how it is.
The selection of games included is very good, and there is a wide variety. This should have been a can’t miss collection. But there is one reason I bought this collection; I just bought the PSP the other day and I grabbed this game for one reason: being able to play Road Rash wherever I want. The games themselves are exactly the way I remembered them, with one glaring exception. I know it’s been said before here, but it’ll never be too many times. What possessed EA to change the music in Road Rash? I grew up with these games back in the day, and the music was a big part of the experience. Other Genesis games in the collection, like B.O.B. and the Strike games, have their original music intact, so why EA did this is mind-boggling. This might seem like a minor gripe to some, but to me, it’s a big strike against this compilation, although I’d still recommend it. But if you can go another route to play the original Genesis versions of RR 1 to 3, than do it. This compilation is a paradox. The titles included show us the kind of company EA used to be, at one time they made good, innovative games. But decisions, like scrapping RR’s original music, remind us of what kind of company EA is now.
